Fujifilm’s 102MP GFX100 mirrorless camera set to launch this June
Fujifilm on Wednesday revealed its latest professional-grade mirrorless camera, the GFX100.
The large format camera shows off a 55mm CMOS sensor, the world’s highest 102MP resolution, and features the company’s speedy X-Processor 4.
“This is the world’s first model that offers a back-illuminated sensor with phase detection pixels, an in-body image stabilization (IBIS) mechanism and 4K/30P video recording capability,” the company said in a press release.
The flagship boasts faster and more accurate autofocus as well, with “dramatic improvement in the accuracy of Face and Eye Detection AF”.
The camera also includes a 3.2-inch and 2.05-inch screen on its rear, with a 1.80-inch screen on its top panel.
Additional, the GFX100 features a high-definition viewfinder, USB charging and both RAW and TIFF image formats.
The camera will launch in June 2019, however a South Africa price-tag and release date is currently unavailable.
In the United States, the GFX100 will go one sale for almost $10 000.
