Nutanix press office news
Nutanix (NASDAQ: NTNX), a leader in enterprise cloud computing, has joined forces with Time Anchor Distillery, the makers of Mirari Gin to establish a bulk supply of hand sanitizer for the healthcare sector in their local community. This means of support during a time of scarcity in the global pandemic is sorely needed, as the virus is combated with adequate health and safety measures.
Those working on the front lines in healthcare do not have the luxury of social distancing, and with supplies of sanitizer, amongst other supplies being low in a time where getting new supplies is a challenging task, the donation is well received.
Mirari Gin is created by chief distiller Shanna-Rae Wilby from Time Anchor Distillery, nestled in the heart of Johannesburg’s trendy Maboneng precinct. The distillery has a host of state-of-the-art equipment and stills that were cleaned out and re-appropriated, making use of their spirits on-hand to produce 100l of sanitizer instead of alcoholic beverages.
The sanitizer is based on the World Health Organization’s specifications. The batch of hand sanitiser quickly ran out and they realised that there is much more of a demand than they could have anticipated. With more batches being made thereafter, once their registration with SARS to produce was approved.
Time Anchor Distillery will be primarily donating this to the most vulnerable in our community and their donation was well-received. Based on this exceptional work, Nutanix has identified Time Anchor Distillery as a beneficiary of its .Heart initiative in South Africa.
“Our team has been working around-the-clock, shifting the entirety of Time Anchor Distillery’s operations to support our community during this pandemic, and we can do so, with the support of Nutanix and donations from the community for the community,” said Wilby.
The Nutanix .Heart initiative aims to make an ongoing positive impact on the world by lending the company’s voice, time, expertise, products, and funding to help solve complex social problems.
Commenting on the initiative, Paul Ruinaard, Regional Sales Director at Nutanix in South Africa, said: “Time Anchor Distillery has identified an issue within our country that has utilized their resources to make a difference that undoubtedly has a far-reaching impact in South Africa. As a donor, we have assisted the distillery with financial support and are proud to be associated with them.”
