As we draw closer to next month’s public release of iOS 26, Apple has ramped up the iOS 26 betas and has released iOS 26 Beta 6 to developers. Today’s beta comes just 1 week after the release of beta 5.
If you are a registered developer who is beta testing iOS 26 on his or her devices, then you can head over to the Software Update section of your device to install his update.
Expected to get released in mid-September, iOS 26 is a major release for iPhones and iPads. It is bringing a bunch of new features to iPhones, including a brand new Liquid Glass design, new features to stock apps, new Apple Intelligence features, new CarPlay experience, desktop-style window UI for apps on for iPad apps, and more.
Along with iOS 26 beta 6, Apple has also released iPadOS 26 beta 6, macOS Tohoe 26 beta 6, visionOS 26 beta 6, watchOS 26 beta 6, and tvOS 26 beta 6. All of these are also available for download on their compatible devices.
We are installing iOS 26 beta 6 on our devices, and will update this article as new changes are discovered in this release.
Changes in iOS 26 beta 6
A new onboarding screen has been added in iOS 26 beta 6 that explains the new Liquid Glass design, design changes in various apps, etc.
A new ringtone called Little Bird has been added.
Apple has removed the Classic Mode Switching toggle it added to Camera settings in beta 5.
The app launching speed or at least the animation, feels a lot faster than the previous beta.
